ANDREA MARIA ALONSO
was admitted to the bar in
1982 in New York. She is also admitted to practice
in the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals,
2nd Circuit; U.S. District Court, Southern and Eastern
Districts of New York. Ms. Alonso graduated from
St. John's University (B.A., 1978) and then from
St. John's University School of Law (J.D., 1981).
Presently, she is a member of the Alumni Board of
Directors of her alma mater. She has been associated
with Morris Duffy Alonso & Faley since graduating from
law school in 1981 and became a named partner in 1992.
Ms. Alonso specializes in Appellate Litigation. She has argued in the
Appellate Terms and Appellate Divisions of the State of New York, the
New York Court of Appeals and the 2nd Circuit Court of
Appeals.
Her legal articles have been published in the New York Law Journal,
The ABA Journal, The Defense Research Institute Journal,
The Torts, Insurance and Compensation Journal of the New York State
Bar Association, and Defendant. She is a frequent lecturer
in insurance defense topics at insurance companies, bar associations,
claims associations and law schools.
She is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York;
New York County Lawyers Association; Defense Research Institute;
Puerto Rican Bar Association; Hispanic National Bar Association; New
York State Bar Association; and a member of Defense Association of New
York. She is fluent in Spanish. She is a managing partner in the law
firm of Morris Duffy Alonso & Faley. Ms. Alonso is married to Glenn
J. Martin and the mother of three children.
