KENNETH E. PITCOFF, graduated with honors from the State University at Stony Brook in 1992 and obtained his juris doctorate from St. John’s University in 1996. He is admitted to practice law in the U.S. District Court Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts as well as the New York State Courts. Mr. Pitcoff was chosen as Attorney of the Year by Midwest Claims, a division of Houston Casualty Corporation.

Mr. Pitcoff is the managing partner of the firm’s public entity department. He specializes in high profile public entity cases. Trials of note include Wall v. Town of Niskayuna in which Mr. Pitcoff obtained a defendant’s verdict where plaintiff Police Sergeant alleged gender discrimination in not being promoted to lieutenant and retaliation in not being promoted to detective sergeant. Mr. Pitcoff was also the lead defense counsel in the multi-million dollar breach of contract case of Techon Contracting v. Village of Lynbrook which was discontinued after a six week trial.

Mr. Pitcoff also specializes in handling high exposure personal injury cases where catastrophic injuries are alleged. He has successfully tried numerous wrongful death cases including most recently the case of Munoz v. Guarino where the personal assets of Mr. Pitcoff’s client were at risk and a verdict was rendered by the jury which was substantially less than the offer previously extended to the plaintiff’s estate.

Mr. Pitcoff’s articles are frequently published in the New York Law Journal and other publications on issues concerning municipal liability. Mr. Pitcoff is a frequent lecture on immunities provided to municipalities.
