ELIZABETH A. FILARDI has over fifteen years of experience practicing exclusively in civil litigation since graduating from law school. She joined Morris Duffy Alonso Faley & Pitcoff in 2010 and was elevated to partner in 2018.
Ms. Filardi concentrates her practice in construction litigation and New York Labor Law, where she is regularly defends complex, high-exposure claims arising under New York Labor Law §§ 200, 240(1), and 241(6). She represents construction contractors, general contractors, subcontractors, building owners, and developers at all stages of civil litigation, in matters involving alleged high-exposure construction accidents, complex risk transfer issues, and insurance coverage disputes.
Drawing on her extensive experience as a seasoned litigator, Ms. Filardi is also regularly called upon to defend corporations and not-for-profit organizations in a broad range of matters, including negligent security, assault, trip-and-fall, and automobile accident claims. Her diverse litigation background allows her to bring a practical, business-minded perspective to the defense of these matters, tailoring her strategy to the specific risks and priorities of each client.
Ms. Filardi is a graduate of St. John's University School of Law, where she was a recipient of the New York Court of Appeals Fellowship. While in law school, she served as Executive Director of the Dispute Resolution Society and was selected to participate in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition in Vienna, Austria.
Ms. Filardi is a former board member of the Columbian Lawyers Association of the First Judicial Department, reflecting her ongoing commitment to the legal profession and the broader legal community.
